‘SAY HELLO’

There comes a time in everyone’s life where we’re told by our mothers to “get rid of those blessed toys! they’ve been cluttering up the place rent free for over 40 years!!” Sad though this is, there’s only one way to handle the process Bray recalls, draw all of them, first starting with the Smurfs and then the rest of the other weird 70’s toys & figures. Turning a moment of loss into yet another creative path. Treat them all as sitters for a series of portraits, like a rogue’s gallery & create a brand-new collection. Using bright primary-coloured pencils immediately gave the drawings a naive innocence & fed back into the vibrancy of the childhood toys.

David is very well-known as a fine art illustrator with over 20 years of experience. He has worked in the Louvre & won the prestigious Absolute Vodka Campaign with the likes of Keith Haring & Andy Warhol. He has many facets, including more recently painting stunning Turneresque Abstract Landscapes plus an endless stream of naïve style drawings.
